Drilling and Servicing Contractors were recently asked to investigate the failure of a clients old pumping system. There was no vehicular access to the position as a lot of mature trees blocked the route! We had to carry everything in needed to remove the pump by hand.

Once the pump was removed from the borehole the problem was not hard to spot. The pump and riser had become conpletely blocked with a combination of Iron bacteria and sand.

DSC managed to re commission the borehole with a combination of airlifting, scrubbing and chemical treatment. The pumping system was also wrongly configured with a fast initial pumping rate drawing in sand and quickly dropping flow.

We installed a new pumping system matched to the boreholes actual yeild and set in place an annual maintanence schedule.
